hen[26] - Hanger 2 [HWW]

This decorative brick façade conceals the entrance to Hanger 2 - currently "The First World War in the Air" - It was originally the Grahame-White Factory, built between 1915 and 1918. It was moved to this site in 2003 / 2011 to make room for new housing near Aerodrome Road.

During this period it was the RFC {Royal Flying Corps} with the RAF {Royal Air Force} being formed on 1st April 1918.
