oad - rule of threes for rescues

Useful reminder of how any rescued animal will react when they arrive at their new home.
Although this timeline is for dogs, I'm pretty sure that rescued domesticated cats will behave in a similar way - allowing for the greater "independence" of felines.
In both cats and dogs how quickly they adapt and feel secure will depend a lot on their history, which as they can't tell us, needs their new human family to observe their behaviour carefully and to make allowances. A dog that's been badly treated will take more time to accept some people as friends and be very nervous for some time {especially if there has been a failed placement or multiple stages / fosters in their rescue}.
