HoS - D6898 [HTT][HFF]

Sadly I don't think this class 37 will move much.
This is D6898 aka 37198{TOPS}. The Class 37s were designed by English Electric and built at their Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns works in Darlington. D6898 was the final locomotive built at the works before its closure. 37198 was withdrawn from service in 1999 and preserved before being resold to Network Rail in 2008. After being used as a spares donor for other class members, it was donated to the North Road / Head of Steam Museum in August 2021.

Class 37s have quite a following, and due to their engine sounds are often referred to as "tractors" - alternatively they are "Syphons" - either to rhyme Type 3 with syphon G or from then large number of grills in the bodywork Take your pick !
There were 309 in total built between 1960 and 1965, with 65 still in use and 35 surviving into preservation [Hope I haven't counted any twice !]
