Blossom on the Bramley Apple tree - an old variety of cooking apple, much favoured by experienced cooks.
When we moved in, this tree seemed to be afflicted by "bitter pit" disease but some judicious feeding & pruning seem to have done the trick and we've had some bumper crops in recent years.
