Maternal Grandmother.
Actually, this lovely lady (Mrs Carpenter) was mother in law to CAS.
I think this was taken at a studio in Bristol, possibly around (before) WW2. It was handed over to me by relatives around 2015/6, having taken a roundabout route through the family.
Add'n info : The back of the mount has an inked stamp "Brights of Bristol" and the reference "BB 1745/2928" neatly printed in pencil. Also "Mrs Carpenter", this last is in ballpoint, and the writing looks somewhat familiar.
Unfortunately, I have no really distinct memory of her. I shall do some research ...
e2a (September 2020) - I remembered being told that GrannyC died from complications after a successful operation for breast cancer, one of her two daughters also had breast cancer. Her grand-daughters were all able to get into the screening programme, at a point some years earlier than the standard admission.
