Jujube
Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba) is a fruit that is also known as the Chinese date or red date. It is a species of ziziphus in the buckthorn family. The fruit is round and pear-shaped and can be as small as a cherry or as big as a plum. It has a thin, edible skin and whitish flesh. When ripe, the fruit turns dark red and begins to wrinkle and soften. Jujube trees are drought resistant, virtually pest and disease free, and thrive in hot summer locations.
