Several versions of Buddhist scriptures tell the story of a terrible storm that crashed down from heaven when Buddha was in a trance. Seeing the Buddha unprotected, the naga King, Muscalinda lifted up his great head like an umbrella to shield him from the elements. Because of the special significance of the naga, this particular image of the Buddha became a standard representation in Cambodia. He wears in Angkor-style crown with a conical top and jewelry
