Apart from a few woodcuts in the style of Figure 11 that seem inspired by description rather than depictions, Pignoria’s supplement and included woodcuts o more than a dozen drawings sent to him by Girolamo Alandro (1480-1542) They depict Japanese statues brought by missionaries to Italy which are, to my knowledge, the earliest printed representation of genuine Buddhist statuary in the West. ~ Page 114
