1959 Nash Metropolitan - 642 UXO

The Nash Metropolitan was sold from 1953 through until 1961.

I believe it was also sold as a Hudson when Nash and Hudson merged in the 1950s to form the AMC and later as a standalone marque during the Rambler years, as well as in the United Kingdom and other markets.

And talking of the UK, because of the tie in with the Austin Motor Company, who became involved with its production, many people here also refer to it as the Austin Nash Metropolitan.

Quite a complicated story for such a small car!

Great photo Paul! I ran across one of these back in the early 90s and I wish I'd bought it.

Think we've all been there at some point Norm ... although in my case it tends to be more I wish I could afford to buy one of those rather than I wish I'd bought that! ;)

I really could not afford it with being fresh out of college, but I do wish I'd tried!

Hehe - my high school boyfriend had a Met, red and white. Nothing about this car said "cool", but it was hilarious!
