1956 Chevrolet Corvette (C1) - NAS 252

This car actually featured on the Florida drag scene for many years, before being purchased in 2003 from a Corvette dealer in Ohio, via the internet, by Howard Dawson.

It was shipped to Felixstowe, via New Jersey, before being driven a further 270 miles to its new home in the North East of England.

Much work and many miles later the car is enjoying its new life here in the UK even if it does leak, in the words of the owners, from everywhere except the hood.

Apparently, it took them until they were 50 before they could afford the car and they can't see a time when they will ever want to sell it.

Can't say I'm surprised!

You have done this classic Corvette justice ..a nice way to show off the lovely lines of the automobile. That color combination was (still is) my favorite from the '50's. ;) The car and sky play well with each other Paul!

Glad you like it Chris and thanks for adding it into your faves. Sadly, nobody bought me one of these when I turned 50 earlier this year! :(

I am getting a bit creaky to take low shots like this, but I think I would make the effort for this little gem. I'm glad you did, Paul.

You and me both Phil and to be honest even at this height I was still getting things popping over the bonnet. If you look at the original, which I've added into Notes, you'll see I cheated and did a little bit of work to clean it up! ;)

Phil Sutters replied to autofantasia:

Sometimes I have even cut round the whole car and blurred what could still be seen through the windows! It all depends on whether the appeal of the subject warrants the effort. This is an example www.ipernity.com/doc/philsutters/26006153/in/album/504873 As can be seen in the same album this was parked in a London side street with a backdrop of a brick wall, but I thought it needed a more glamorous presentation.

You know I'd love to spoil you Wendi, but I'm afraid not! ;)

autofantasia replied to Phil Sutters:

Yeah, know what you mean. I might revisit this one even further if I have the time and inclination. Things visible through the glass though in the background are a real pain ... never seem able to work them out in a way that I'm happy with the end result! :(
