Good to see an example of the small DMUs that formed the backbone of local services outside the Southern electric zone, from the sixties onwards. Dad was never a multiple unit fan, so we have not got many in our albums. Thanks for sharing your's.

Thanks. I don't have too many photos of these first generation DMUs; we tended to ignore the things in favour of loco hauled trains. Nobody seemed to want to waste film on these....

Wasting film is something we don't have to think about now. I know Dad was very careful about what he did & didn't take. Mind you, clogging up computer memory can become an issue, if you shoot as many different things as I seem to!

I think that the limitations of film made us more carefull in choosing the subjects and composition. Nowadays the only thing that stops us is a flat battery...
