HBM Salts Mill Saltaire West Yorkshire 14th April 2025
Salts Mill and the surrounding village of Saltaire was financed and built by the 19th century industrialist and philanthropist Sir Titus Salt in 1853 after he observed other textile factories and was disappointed by the working conditions he saw there. The woolen mill closed in 1986 and the following year it was sold to Jonathan Silver, who began a long renovation scheme.
The 1853 Gallery is on the ground floor of the Mill & has a permanent David Hockney art exhibition. His huge "Pacific Surf" faxed drawing is seen here in the background.
HBM to everyone. Enjoy the start of the new week.

A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
Very nice composition
I remember learning about Saltaire in one of my university courses, but I have never visited properly. Must do it one day!!
Best Wishes, Happy Monday, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!
