A shot at Kinchley Lane during the GCR Winter Gala. This is Southern Urie S15 4-6-0 506 on the 13.30 mixed freight train from Loughborough to Swithland.

Thanks very much Peter. I'll post another showing the full train. It's true the wagons are all in ex-works condition a state that you very rarely saw back in the day (mine as well!). I never made it to Central in steam days but I did watch long freights - mainly coal trucks - on the GCR line between Doncaster & Scunthorpe.

I was an apprentice at Stibbe's being across the road from the station you had a great view of the railway from the upper floors including the turntable, wouldn't you have liked that
