Great Central Railway Quorn Leicestershire 14th December 2022

by Loose_Grip/Pete
British Railways Standard 5 4-6-0 73156 heads the 13.00 non-stop dining train through Quorn & Woodhouse.

On this sunny, cold & crisp day we were clearing the undergrowth alongside the Down Lie-by and I put my loppers down to grab a few shots of the train passing.

A great nostalgic image, it reminds me of going to Nottingham to do a job only that was often a non corridor train

Thanks Peter. Sadly I never got to ride on the GCR line in BR days. I lived too far away.

Hi Pete
A very nice picture, which I like very much!

Thanks very much Peter.
I think the Harz mountain gradients are bit more onerous than ours...
All the Best.
