HFF Great Central Railway Gorton Manchester 10th April 2022

The original Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester Railway Gorton station was located here, adjacent to the Tank works, and although all trace of it has gone the railway spear fencing remains.

For once the fence on my photo is obvious... HFF & have a great weekend

I see a bar missing. Reminds me of a wayward kid in my childhood neighbourhood who used one of those as a spear. A poor girl copped a wound in her foot.

Well captured. It is a shame when stations close and the railings are all that remain Even if new stations are built many people will have memories of the old ones.
