Forth Bridge South Queensferry Edinburgh Scotland 27th August 2017

With just a light grey exhaust Ian Riley's Stanier Black 5 4-6-0 44871 cruises southwards through the complex ironwork of the Forth Railway Bridge on the The Forth Circle railtour.

The train set off 22 minutes late from Linlithgow on the south bank west of Edinburgh and crossed the bridge northwards (before we arrived) to do a circuit around Fife. After calling at Edinburgh Waverley station it's final destination was Tweedbank on the reopened Waverley Route.

The train shows the enormity of the bridge. I've seen photos of the whole bridge but not with something which scales it so well.

Thanks. Still have no idea how images find themselves on Explore!

autofantasia replied to Loose_Grip/Pete:

You simply need to click on Explore at the top of your screen next to your mailbox icon. Then on the next screen click on the What's Hot tab which sits underneath the search bar near the top of the screen ... and there you go, 18 pages of images with 27 on each to view and hopefully enjoy! :)

Thanks. I guess I know where to locate the images but what are the criteria used to get them there?

As best I can tell it's mainly an automatic process, some sort of algorithm linked I guess to the number of visits, faves and comments a photograph attracts. So, it's always going to be a mixed bag and there will always be people feature who are working the system. Still, putting that to one side it is still a good way of being introduced to new ideas and new people! :)
