KESR Tenterden Kent Spring 1988

Ex-War Department Austerity 0-6-0ST WD 191, built by Hunslet in 1952, works number 3791, fills its tank with water at Tenterden Town station.

My one and only (so far!) visit to the KESR, fleeting at that.

A good men at work shot, Pete.

I too made just the one 'fleeting visit' to the K&ESR.... in 1990 and photographed a Hunslet 0-6-0ST built in 1952 (works no 3781). It is now on the MHR, chopped and changed to a side tank loco, painted blue and named Thomas!

Thanks Neil.

According to their website the KESR lists 3 Hunslet Austerities, this one (numbered 23) plus 24 & 25, works numbers 3800 & 3797 respectively. 23 is awaiting overhaul and 25 is being overhauled while 24 was sold & is no longer on site. Maybe they had a fourth back in 1990.
