Fun for all
Vintage postcard view of the White City amusement park in Worcester, Massachusetts.
White City was considered a trolley park, a name owing to the fact that picnic areas and recreational parks were often located at the terminus of a streetcar line in order to boost weekend ridership. From these early picnic and fair areas, bonafide amusement parks would often spring up. After a run which saw the addition of several state-or-the-art rides like the Zip roller coaster, the park closed in 1960.
p.s. Looks like a nice park - anyone recall visiting it as a kid?
