Magpie Mine
The Magpie Mine at Sheldon in the Peak District is probably the best surviving group of lead mining structures in Derbyshire. Records of this mine date back to 1740 and it was the last working lead mine in the county, finally closing in 1958. It is a designated ancient monument.
