Portishead Harbour

Portishead Harbour was once a highly industrialised dock site with a large power station at the left of this view and a phosphorous works and oil refinery to the right. South Wales coal was brought over in large quantities for the power station in a fleet of dedicated ships.

Today the sea lock has been replaced by a much smaller lock and the harbour has become a marina with many apartment blocks around. It is certainly thriving with many people enjoying the dockside bars and restaurants during my visit.
