Keeping safe.

A "sign of the times" which is becoming more common during the present circumstances. I'm not sure how effective these masks are outdoors....my friend who is a fully-qualified SRN tells me that they are only designed to protect patients from medical staff in a "hospital environment". The surgical gloves that this family are wearing are a good idea though, especially for people who live in shared accommodation such as flats / apartments where many residents are touching "communal" door-handles etc. Thoughts, anyone?

But, why are they outside ?

Phil replied to Peggy C:

People (in the UK) are allowed outside for shopping, work or physical exercise as long as they are alone or in groups of no more than two people. Families who live together are allowed to be in "family-size" groups.

In a television programme about infections in Heinsberg, a district in Germany heavily affected by corona, virologists moved from house to house, interviewing infectious patients and taking swabs at all places in the home: at door handles, on the toilet, etc. Not a single one of these samples taken to the laboratory could be used to cultivate viruses.

Ein herausragendes Dokument - zur Erinnerung für uns alle, in späteren, hoffentlich wieder "normalen" Zeiten.
