The Cicada's Tale ~ Cicada with moulted husk still attached

The Cicada's Tale

Yesterday after hearing rustling in the leaves I came across this little fellow. He had just emerged and his husk was stuck to him and he was tired of struggling.

So.. I took pics.. then freed him.. and took more (and a video) and he sat on me for a while and rested then off he went up a Post Oak tree to join his pals last night for their beautiful song !

A Happy Ever After story !

Amazing capture Pam, I thought only snakes shed their outer layer. It looks like this creature is carrying a ghost of it's self.
