The Cicada's Tale ~ Cicada finally free & ready to roam !

Yesterday after hearing rustling in the leaves I came across this little fellow. He had just emerged and his husk was stuck to him and he was tired of struggling.

So.. I took pics.. then freed him.. and took more (and a video) and he sat on me for a while and rested then off he went up a Post Oak tree to join his pals last night for their beautiful song !

A Happy Ever After story !

I remember one year that they swarmed and they were all over everything. I hated to be outside because they would land on me. Still, there is a beauty about them.

Thankyou Esther !

There are many here.. but compared with some of the creepy bugs(and snakes and spiders) I can live with these !

Beautifully captured. Interesting that they're green - ours are (or at least all the ones I've seen).
