Its not a vine.. but can grow into huge straggly shrubs/bushes. Buddleia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddleja_davidii grows just about everywhere so you probably have one. Dont be afraid to prune it heavily.(it REALLY does need that). it will come back each year !
There are a zillion sub species too.. but the Buddleia davidii is the one you see everywhere.. in many colours of the white to deep purple range.
