Eternal Snow

Early European explorers referred to the snow-capped volcanos of Africa as Eternal Snow.
It seems now that the snow may not be everlasting.

This photo was taken by a Yashica Electro 35CC and COLOR-YASHINON DX 1:1.8 f=35mm lens with a Pro 52mm (UV) Japan filter using Kodak daylight negative 135 film, the negative scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

I took this photo on an ascent of Mt. Kenya in January 1978. I wonder what is left of this equatorial glacier 48 years later . . . ?
