Seeking Infinity

by Scott Holcomb
While on a recent visit to Stanford University I was approached by a curious student as I focused my vintage film camera down an interesting corridor.
“Pardon me”, he inquired, “but what are you doing with that interesting optical instrument”?
Caught somewhat off guard, I glanced at the lens setting and replied, “Seeking infinity”.
As he strolled away I heard him mutter, “Ah, you are one of those theoreticians from the Astrophysics Lab . . . “

This photo was taken by a Kowa Super 66 medium format film camera with a Kowa 1:3.5/55mm lens and Kowa L39•3C(UV) ø67 filter using Kodak Portra 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
