Repack Remembered

by Scott Holcomb
Repack Road is a fast fire road that descends 1,300 feet in less than 2 miles. It was the site of races in the 1970’s using modified bicycles that could withstand the rigors of mountain trails. Workshops in the nearby Marin County town of Fairfax became a center for developing the new sport of mountain biking. The word “Repack” is linked to the birth of that sport.

This photo was taken by a KИEB-60 medium format film camera with a Калейнар-3В 2.8/150mm lens and Чф-1x 82x0.75 filter using Kodak Portra 160 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitalized with Photoshop.
