Mt Mulanje - Namasile Peak

I ended up scaling a number of the peaks within the Mulanje massif. Although I have no technical expertise in rock climbing I excelled in scrambling to the summits of Mulanje's granite domes.
Pictured is Namasile Peak, 2,687 meters, shot from the summit of Matambale Peak.

An image from a 35mm transparency shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC camera, scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Within this highland massif were 4 or 5 tiny huts where hikers could shelter, each spaced a tough day's trek apart. For a few of the 10 days that I spent on the highland massif there were several trekkers like myself on similar adventures. When I shot these pictures I was on my own except for an elderly hut caretaker. For the next 6 or 7 days it was me and the mountain - an experience that I shall never forget.
