The
Frauenkapelle in Sonthofen, situated directly on the south side of St Michael’s parish church, is a historic religious building dating from 1449. It is renowned for its Baroque style, the ceiling fresco (from the mid-18th century) and the high altar (1704/05). The chapel has survived several destructions and has been redesigned on several occasions.
The name
Frauenkapelle is short of
Kirche Unserer Lieben Frau (= Church of our Lady).
On PiP4 you see the chapel to the right of the
parish church St. Michael.
