Psora decipiens lichen

Macro shot of a small patch of this colourful lichen, seen at the Pinhorn Grazing Lease area in SE Alberta, on 21 September 2013. The two friends and I, with whom I went on a 4-day trip, staying at Elkwater in the Cypress Hills for three nights, met a group of people from Medicine Hat College to travel across the prairie grasslands to the Pinhorn location. They had discovered an area of Yucca plants growing there and have been monitoring them. This involves counting every plant, every clone, each new one and each old one, how many seedpods and also how many tiny exit holes (from a certain insect) in the pods. Can't remember the size of the whole patch of this lichen - guessing at maybe 3 or 4 inches?
