Comb Tooth fungus / Hericium coralloides

This particular find was rather different from the Hericiums that I tend to see - not that they can be found very often. It's more rounded and compact, but I'm pretty sure it is still the same species. Seen when a group of us spent the day botanizing on Rod Handfield's land, SW of Calgary and W of Millarville. Each year, Rod and his wife generously allow us to roam their forest and, in return, we let them know of our updated findings. If I was lucky enough to own land, I'm sure I would be thrilled to have people come and explore and make an extensive list of all flora and fauna that was found on my land. It's always a win-win situation.
