Larch tree flower
If you happen to know where there is a Larch tree, take a look at the branches at the right time of the year. They have a number of these small flowers along the branches and when you see them up close, they really are very attractive. This one has only just begun to open, so is a deeper pinky purple than one that is fully open. Photographed at South Glenmore Park yesterday morning, when we went birding along the southern edge of the Glenmore Reservoir.
