Little parasol in the moss
One of the very tiny mushrooms that I saw and photographed at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park yesterday afternoon.
I have just got home, around 7:00 p.m., after an absolutely BRUTAL, all day hike in the mountains. I had a gut feeling that it was going to be difficult, and I was proved right! Half way up the mountain, I was already feeling as though I couldn't go one step further. Gorgeous scenery, of course, though for most of the day, the light was not good. Lovely and cool, though, which I love, but then it rained when we started coming down. So, the downhill path was wet and muddy. We saw several new plants, as well as a few more that we don't normally see, so that part was great. Thanks so much, George, for hanging back and refusing to go on ahead of me. So very much appreciated, though I didn't want you to do it! I'm so relieved that at least you (and I) got to see the first of the four lakes once we finally reached the top. I would have felt terrible if you'd missed that because I kept having to stop. Won't be going on another rmountain hike like that one! Doug and George - I really hope you are both really happy with most , if not all, the photos you took today! And now, all I want to do is fall into bed and sleep for hours and hours....
