This is the wide-eyed, older Great Horned Owlet down at Burnsmead, taken two evenings ago. Apparently, he is flying now and seems to take good care of his young sister/brother (but I think it's a "she", LOL). They have been seen having fun, flying a little, and landing on a nearby log together. It was quite amusing early this evening - we watched as the smaller owlet finally managed to cough/choke up a huge pellet : ) This owlet was quite high up in a tree - just looks as though I was really close, thanks to cropping.
