Young Ring-necked Pheasants
On a walk in Hull's Wood the other evening, we were watching a White-tailed Deer doe and her young, spotted twins, when all of a sudden a cloud of birds took off out of the grass in front of us. At first, we thought they were Partridges but then realized they were young Ring-necked Pheasants. Managed to get this photo that is just about good enough for ID purposes and for a record of the fun sighting.
