Just missed a good photo opportunity yesterday! I happened to pass a fallen log close to the park path and glanced down to see if there were any fungi growing on it. I suddenly realized that this beautiful Ring-necked Pheasant was standing on top of the log. Not wanting to frighten the bird, I keot slowly walking away from it while getting my camera ready. Of course, by that time, he had jumped down and off he disappeared into the tall grass. Just managed this quick shot before he vanished from sight.
