Got absolutely soaked this afternoon when I went to see if there was any sign of a baby in the Great Horned Owl's nest at my usual place. I was pretty sure I had seen a bit of light-coloured fluff (that moved!) on a recent look. No sign of Mom today but there was the baby, sitting on top of the nest. Dad was keeping watch from a nearby grove of trees. Not sure how old this baby would be, but it looks really young. I'm really hoping that it will be learning to fly one day when I go for a short walk in that area.
