old -

- from the Archives
- a very old cemetery in Florida USA
- some of these old sites have names of the buried
- others, do not
- those who still have relatives to care for the grave sites
- fix them
- there are many like the one above that weather has taken a toll on
- and there are no relatives to contact
- think this is one of the oldest where I lived in Florida

From searching County records for this cemetery, it seems that it was named after - Theodore 'Tiger' Flowers ..the 1st African-American boxer to win the World Middleweight Title (1926).
The cemetery, per records, goes back to the late 1800s.
The Crypt above is one of the probably 60-70 yr old vaults. If family can be located, they fix up the crypt -- if not, then the City Dept. of Cemeteries fixes them.
This cemetery and the one beside it all have these types of Crypts.
Some have newer markers .. but it is very old ... it is full of beautiful flowering trees [ Magnolia and Tabebuia ] as well as the Spanish Moss draped over branches.
Really like spending time in here.

There is a real beauty in the Peace.

Walking an old churchyard in England on a Summer afternoon .... reading the inscriptions.. learning the histories. . That was always a GOOD day.
