Happy Fence Friday, All.
They {whoever "they" are :-)} say you should always try and have a bit of red in a photo so here is a little bit of a red car :-)
There were two 'County Council' buildings in Aylesbury. I live in Aylesbury. This is one of them. The original building on the opposite side of the road dates from the 1920's I think :-) I started my working life in the old building and then got moved to the new building here. First worked on the second floor and then they moved me to the 6th floor before I was lucky enough to be granted Early Retirement. This building is affectionately known as "Pooleys Palace" or "Pooley's Folly" :-))
Fred Pooley was the Architect :-)
Note: The old building is now being converted into Flats :-)
From Wikipedia -
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/County_Hall,_Aylesbury
"County Hall is a high-rise tower block in Walton Street in Aylesbury, in the county of Buckinghamshire in England. It was built to house the former Buckinghamshire County Council. Following local government reorganisation in 2020 the building is now owned by Buckinghamshire Council. County Hall continues to be used as offices by the new council".
