Happy Wednesday Wall to all. This wall is next to the entrance to the Northam Boulevard shopping centre.

This is only a small section of the whole wall which shows activities around Northam in the WA Wheatbelt. Ballooning is a major activity throughout the year. The kayak represents activities on the Avon River which is one of the rivers flowing through the town. Northam is the starting point for the Avon Descent, a two-day race where canoes, kayaks and powerboats compete (all at the same time) to race down the Avon, over weirs and through rapids for 120 kilometres, ending up in Bayswater on the outskirts of Perth. It can be a hairy ride!
