This macro shows a stick insect, one of more than 100 species currently identified in Australia. It was about 100 mm long and was blown onto my balcony on a very hot day (up to 41 C). It looked unhealthy (fungus near the leg joint at right?) and was dead this morning when I took the hand-held images in the PiPs.
