Betoota is a ghost town in western Queensland, with a permanent population of nil, but it does have a (restored) pub and a racetrack. The satirical online newspaper, the
"Betoota Advocate" claims to originate here as "Australia's oldest newspaper". See also PiPs.
Betoota is now a "must visit" for travellers and not only is the pub busy, but it has benches outside for those wishing to be in the sunshine. With that thought, I'll wish everyone a very Happy Bench Monday and a good week to follow.
