Betoota benches

Betoota is a ghost town in western Queensland, with a permanent population of nil, but it does have a (restored) pub and a racetrack. The satirical online newspaper, the "Betoota Advocate" claims to originate here as "Australia's oldest newspaper". See also PiPs.

Betoota is now a "must visit" for travellers and not only is the pub busy, but it has benches outside for those wishing to be in the sunshine. With that thought, I'll wish everyone a very Happy Bench Monday and a good week to follow.

La fotografía principal tiene un paisaje exótico, cielo azul salpicado de nubes blancas y ese pub perdido en medio de la nada, pero con bancos. Creo que ahí se circula con vehículos potentes. supongo muchos caminos sin asfaltar. Buen domingo George.

Great photos George. Thank you for the notes. That is really intriguing, - a ghost town but one with a pub and race track!! Are there other communities close by? I imagine there must be or they would struggle to get staff, or indeed trade. It is funny but even in our busy towns some pubs struggle to stay open and this one with no population is thriving!!!

Love that sky and the colours here. Beautifully captured.

HBM and have a lovely new week.

Betoota is legendary! It is fantastic that the pub was taken over and has brought the town back to life for outback venturers.
