Best before

For Macro Mondays 222 - 13 September 2021 - Konservendose / Food can.

I wonder if there are various international versions of "best before" on packaged/canned foodstuff? I'll be interested to hear.

Nice photo. Seems to be universal now. Even children's car seats expire here.

I have read that people have opened cans from years ago and the content is still OK! I suppose it has to be stated, but I just use my nose and common sense as to whether fresh or canned food is still alright to consume! In interesting picture and question George.

In the US we have "Best before", "Use before", and "Sell before". I think for other than perishables there is "Expiration date".

due to food shortages being experienced here
in the uk . . they are advising that the "best before" date
should not be taken too seriously :) . . I guess a bottle
of wine or beer . . is ok past it's sell by date yes ?
shall we have a party :) try them and see . . :)
