199/366: Silver Damselfly Close-Up (+1 note)

by Janet Brien
(+1 in a note above)
Have you ever tried to take a picture of a damselfly or a dragonfly? They can be among the most frustrating subjects to capture, but every one that turns out is an awesome prize to be proud of. Often they are so skittish that if any amount of movement is detected, they zoom away. Others wait until you are about to press the shutter release before they disappear, followed by your wails of anguish. But sometimes, by a combination of luck and a subject that decides to stay put, you can get close enough for some good attempts! This particular damselfly let me approach very close and I crept ever so slowly forward, clicking away as I moved in, inch by precious inch. I posted a full-body image some time ago, you can see it in a note in the upper left of this image.
