176/366: Bell of the Ball: Variegated Ruby Red and Pink Corn Poppy
I love the colors and variants of corn poppies, which are most often red but also white and many shades of pink (I think they may appear in yellow and orange too, but that may be another species). This one is my favorite that grows in my garden, with a light pink center that turn to ruby red petals. When I say ruby red, the color is about 10% into pink so at first they may appear red until you look again...they are very hot pink, almost but not quite red! :D In fact, you'll see that none of the petals are the same--some are mostly solid ruby red, and others are much lighter in color...GORGEOUS!
Explored on July 28, 2016. Highest placement, #49.
