Angel Wings

This morning I went out to water my little garden and found a poppy pod about to fall away from an emerging poppy flower. I was amazed how much the two sides looked like angel's wings!

Did you know that red poppies are the most popular poppy in the world? I found a wonderful page full of information and historical significance which you can read here if you like! :) American Meadows: The Red Poppy

Beautiful...

In Flanders fields.

Forever are they the blood spilt in the name of 'victory"

On a happier note.. they were the sign of a healthy corn field before they got swamped with chemicals...
