Irish Eyes Grand Finale

1 more picture in a note above!

I have been enjoying my beautiful Irish Eyes flowers for months now, and many of them have faded and are turning brown as they begin to dry and prepare their seeds to drop. Today while I was taking pictures of some new blossoms, I noticed that these flowers have one last performance before they fade away! The very center of the flower, which is green when the flower first blooms, has tiny little yellow florets that blossom from the very edges and slowly bloom inwards to the the center. This process takes more than a week, and while the florets advance to the center, the edge florets fade and turn brown. When the blooming florets reach the center, a whole mass of them bloom together in a beautiful golden show like fireworks! Isn't this just spectacular?!! I was not prepared for the beauty of this field of miniature flowers, it's so incredible to me! :)

This is one of the things that attracts me so to macro. We see worlds within worlds.... things that the 'outside world" totally misses.

Its simply wonderment without end !

Great macro, Janet! Like a flower within a flower. That's good value!
