190/365: "Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned." ~ Buddha

Today I was going to feature a prickly flower called a Spikeweed for my 365, but as I left the house, I saw this wasp on a leaf in a very aggressive stance, its wings held out rigidly as it stood its ground. I wondered where its nest was but I wasn't about to go looking around too closely! I had to set my ISO up quite high on this image and wasn't sure I'd be able to remove all the noise, but as you can see, Topaz DeNoise comes through yet again!

Gautama Buddha or Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha, also called Sakyamuni, was a sage from the ancient Shakya republic, on whose teachings Buddhism was founded. He is also referred to as "the Buddha" or simply as "Buddha." Wikipedia: Buddha

Oh my goodness, what a shot... I just replied to your sweet and kind message in my guestbook and said that you and your photographs actually make me see in new ways and here you are, proving that yet again. Because I never knew an insect could actually look angry! I didn't know that. But I can see here that he does look angry and he's actually also quite intimidating. Wow. I have NEVER looked at an insect like this. An amazing shot and a day I learned something new. How wonderful is that?

Dianne said it best...'Holy C#&p!' This is amazing! You have captured the colours (awesome) perfectly and have managed to give this guy a personality and make him look so fierce and beautiful at the same time. I can foresee typing this next line over & over in the future, but...'This is my FAV of your shots thus far!' Great work Janet! I bow before you in humble admiration.
