Photographed from the rim of Crater Lake at about noon. The boat you see is the early morning tour group returning from Wizard Island. There is a boat captain and a park ranger on board with the group, and as the boat makes its way around the lake, there are a number of stops where the ranger talks about the formations, geology and history of what we are looking at. While in motion, the ranger makes his way around the boat to speak to people and answer questions. The price for the tour is a total bargain (about $30US) and for that price you get a knowledgeable tour guide of the lake and three hours to enjoy the enchanting Wizard Island. If you ever get the chance to go to Crater Lake, try to make time for this tour--we will never forget this amazing day! :) (If you would like to see more pictures of this beautiful place, please visit my set, "Hike to Crater Lake: Wizard Island")
