This past Saturday, Steve and I went on a hike with two of our friends and our local hiking group, and on the way back I took pictures of these beautiful little flowers! :)
Cardamine nuttallii is a species of cardamine known by the common name Oak Toothwort or Nuttall's Toothwort. It is native to western North America from British Columbia to California, where it grows in moist mountain habitats. (Source:
Wikipedia) There are four varieties of this plant, and I believe this variety is different than the type that grows on our property. I saw that type on our hike as well. They may be the same but the petals and color are different enough that I think they may be a varient.
